Logistics is not generic

What is inside your carton decides the route, the paperwork, the packing and the cost. These are the categories where we already know the answers β€” because we have shipped them before.

Route

A battery toy and a wooden puzzle ship by completely different channels. Same city of origin, same destination port β€” different routes, different lead times, different cost.

Paperwork

Lithium cells, magnets and liquids each require specific documents. Get it wrong and the shipment is refused at loading β€” you pay storage and re-handling while nobody tells you why.

Packing

Fragile resin needs different protection than a flat-pack surfboard. Under-packing is the most common reason goods arrive damaged β€” and damage claims get declined when packing was inadequate.

Category deep dive Β· Toys & collectibles

Toys: the category where most forwarders give up

Roughly half of all toy SKUs hit at least one freight restriction β€” battery, magnet, liquid or wood. A general forwarder will quote you happily, then discover the problem after you have paid.

We handle this category as a routine, not an exception. Dedicated lanes, documentation prepared in advance, and an honest answer before you commit about whether your specific product can legally move to your destination.

Toys we ship regularly

  • Electric & remote-control toys
  • Sound & light-up toys
  • Magnetic construction sets
  • Slime, putty & liquid novelty toys
  • Wooden puzzles & blocks
  • Collector figures & resin statues
  • Plush & dolls
  • Kid's cosmetics & nail kits
  • RC vehicles & batteries
  • Building block sets

The four things that decide your cost

Factor What it changes Document needed
Built-in or button battery Air often impossible; sea or dedicated battery lane UN38.3 summary, MSDS, battery letter
Strong magnet Flux density limits; screening needed at origin Mag-check report
Liquid, gel or powder fill Excluded from most express and some air routes MSDS / composition sheet
Wooden material ISPM 15 treatment before export is mandatory Fumigation certificate, IPPC mark
A note on compliance for marketplace sellers. To sell toys into the US and EU you need product-level certification β€” CPC/ASTM F963 for the US, EN71 + CE for the EU β€” before the goods ship, not after. If you are still arranging freight before that is settled, tell us where you are in the process. We will tell you honestly whether shipping first makes sense.

Before you ship: getting the product itself

Sourcing is the step before all of this. If you have no tooling budget yet, we can source from factories' existing public moulds and white models β€” finished or unpainted bases you can put your own colours and packaging on, MOQ from 100 units, no tooling fee. When you outgrow that, the same factories tool your own mould.

Where our capability comes from

JM Logistics was founded by a B2B trade professional with over a decade of experience across surfing equipment, LED displays and resin crafts β€” categories where breakage, bulk and weight discipline were the hard problems. That experience is why our packaging and volumetric approach is conservative rather than optimistic.

Toy supply chain is a newer extension of the same capability: category-specific sourcing combined with the logistics to move the result legally.

Other categories we know

Four more, handled the same way

πŸ„

Surf & water sports equipment

Long, bulky, and light for its volume β€” the classic volumetric-weight trap. Soft boards and wetsuits compress; hard boards and paddles need corner protection and correct carton dimensions.

  • Flat-pack and disassembled options to cut volumetric cost
  • Specialist large-parcel lines for items over standard limits
  • Neoprene and wetsuit packing that does not crush or tear
πŸ’‘

LED displays & electronics

Magnetised, static-sensitive, sometimes with lithium power. The failure modes are predictable and mostly preventable β€” screen protection, correct driver handling, and dry, stable packing.

  • ESD protection and moisture control during storage
  • Magnetised goods routed through channels that accept them
  • Photo QC including screen-on function checks where requested
🎨

Resin crafts & home dΓ©cor

Fragile, high unit value, often mixed SKU. Breakage claims only succeed if packing was right and damage was documented at the right moment β€” which is why our receiving photos matter here.

  • Foam, double-wall and custom carton fitting per SKU
  • Photographic condition report before it leaves the warehouse
  • Insurance recommendations matched to unit value
πŸ—οΈ

Furniture & oversized goods

Demountable and flat-packed to fit standard shipping units, with reinforced crating when the item cannot be reduced. Container loading plans sized to actual CBM rather than guesswork.

  • Knock-down design guidance for container optimisation
  • Crating and corner protection for non-demountable items
  • Real CBM measurement reported before shipping

Most categories we can still handle

This page lists what we have shipped before, not everything we are capable of shipping. If your product has a freight restriction we have not described here, ask anyway β€” we will tell you honestly whether it moves.

We will decline counterfeit goods, unauthorised branded products, and anything requiring a false customs declaration. That is not negotiable, and we will tell you before you pay.
